Wrexham are interested in signing Lewis O’Brien from Nottingham Forest in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun. The report in the British tabloid has claimed that Wrexham, who will play in the Championship next season after winning automatic promotion from League One, have agreed a deal with Forest, but they are struggling to meet the midfielder’s salary demands.
The Welsh club have offered Forest £5million for O’Brien, and the Reds are ready to accept it. However, Wrexham are struggling to convince the midfielder to team up with team on the salary that they are proposing.
O’Brien has been at Forest since 2022 and is under contract at the Premier League club until the summer of 2026. The 26-year-old has had loan spells at DC United, Middlesbrough, Los Angeles FC and Swansea City. O’Brien has made 17 appearances for Forest so far in his career, scoring one goal in the process.
