William Gomis got here in slightly gentle for UFC 301. And for good cause.

At Friday’s official weigh-ins, the French featherweight got here in at 143 kilos for his bout with Jean Silva, nicely below the restrict for the division. MMA Preventing’s Guilherme Cruz reported that Gomis’ tough exhibiting on the dimensions got here shortly after the fighter vomited backstage.

William Gomis didn’t look good on the dimensions however nonetheless made weight (143 kilos with garments on) for a featherweight bout. Apparently he threw up moments earlier than weighing in. Fee docs have been following him intently.

Gomis was visibly uncomfortable on the dimensions. After his weigh-in, he slowly exited the room with help from workers. MMA Preventing’s Mike Heck confirmed that Gomis’ bout has been cancelled, following an preliminary report from RMC Sport Fight.

Gomis hoped to enhance to 4-0 within the UFC with a win over Silva, whereas Silva sought his second win of 2024 after a first-round end of Westin Wilson this previous January.
