Leicester City midfielder and reported Manchester United target Wilfred Ndidi is a man in great demand, as more clubs enter the race for his signature, although he’s believed to have an eye on a surprise transfer destination.
United are set to undergo a massive squad overhaul after an extremely poor 2024/25 season in which they finished a lowly 15th place in the Premier League. So far this window, the Red Devils have mostly been concerned with strengthening their attacking department.
Matheus Cunha has already joined United from Wolverhampton Wanderers while talks remain ongoing to get a deal for Bryan Mbuemo over the line.
Once the Mbuemo transfer is wrapped up, United are expected to turn their attention to strengthening other parts of the squad, with the midfield believed high on their list. With Christian Eriksen gone and Casemiro’s future up in the air, the urgency to bring in a new midfielder has only grown.
A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Ndidi, a player United were linked to a few years back, is on the club’s radar once again. More recently, it emerged that United have earmarked the Nigerian as a potential replacement for the ageing Casemiro.
Ndidi joined Leicester from Genk in January 2017 for £17m and has undoubtedly been good value for the Foxes, racking up 303 appearances in all competitions and helping them lift the FA Cup in 2021.
A no-nonsense midfield operator, Ndidi is known for his aggressive style of play, marked by his strong tackling and ball-winning ability.
Everton were mentioned as the other party chasing Ndidi, who has a £9m release clause contained in his contract with Leicester.
Now, journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed that Betis are also keen on the 28-year-old, who is likewise open to a move to Saudi Arabia.
Jacobs wrote on X, “Real Betis the latest club to enquire on Wilfried Ndidi.”
“Everton, Manchester United and Juventus have also discussed the Leicester midfielder. Ndidi also drawing Saudi interest and is believed to be open to the Saudi Pro League.”

It remains unclear where Ndidi will end up, but a move away from Leicester looks highly likely given his low asking price.
