In a huge blow for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), the star India National Cricket Team all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match against the Delhi Capitals (DC).
The 55th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 between the Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Delhi Capitals is currently underway on Monday, May 5, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

Nitish Kumar Reddy is unwell
Sunrisers Hyderabad made three changes to their Playing XI for the do-or-die match against the Delhi Capitals. SRH included Sachin Baby, Abhinav Manohar, and Eshan Malinga in the team in place of Nitish Kumar Reddy, Mohammed Shami, and Kamindu Mendis.
The absence of star all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy came as a major surprise, as he is one of the top players in the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad and was retained by the franchise ahead of the IPL 2025 auction.
Notably, he has not been dropped from the side, and his absence has been because of a stomach infection. The development was confirmed by the Sunrisers Hyderabad on their official social media handles.
“Nitish misses out tonight as he’s unwell,” the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) posted on their official X handle.
