We’re about to enter another one of those Jets years where the question will be: What does a successful season look like?
I don’t think even the most optimistic Jets fan looks at the 2025 right now and thinks “Super Bowl contender.” Ending the 14-year playoff drought is a great goal but an ambitious one when you consider the gap the Jets have to close in their own division and with strong wild-card contenders in the AFC West and North.
This feels like a reset year with new coach Aaron Glenn implementing his culture and evaluating the players on the team to see who fits and who does not with what he wants. Think 1997 with Bill Parcells when they went 9-7 and laid the groundwork for the playoff run in 1998.
But there is one area outside of wins and losses and playoff berths where I think the Jets can show improvement and this could feel like a major step forward – can they have a functional offense for once?
