West Ham have handed manager Rehanne Skinner a one-year contract extension after going five games unbeaten in the Women’s Super League.

Skinner became the first woman to manage West Ham in the WSL when she took charge in 2023, though they finished second-bottom in her first season in charge – albeit nine points clear of relegated Bristol City.

However, the Hammers are targeting a top-six finish this term following a fine run of form, sitting seventh in the table with two games remaining.

They trounced Crystal Palace 7-1 on Sunday to condemn them to relegation, having also drawn with both Manchester clubs and Chelsea during their ongoing unbeaten streak.

Skinner told West Ham’s website: “I’m delighted to be extending my contract at West Ham United.

“We’ve made huge progress on and off the pitch over the last 18 months, which has been a collective effort from everyone at the club.”

West Ham’s remaining games in 2024-25 are against lowly Aston Villa and Leicester City, as they look to bridge a two-point gap to sixth-placed Liverpool.
