Ian Machado Garry is hyping fans up for his next fight on Saturday.
The rising welterweight star makes his first octagon appearance in 2025 when he faces Carlos Prates in the main event of UFC Kansas City. Garry returns for the first time since giving Shavkat Rakhmonov is toughest fight to date in a five-round decision loss in the co-main event of UFC 310 in December.
Garry stepped in to face Prates on short notice after the original main event between Jamahal Hill and Khalil Rountree was postponed, and Prates was moved from UFC 314 after scheduled opponend Geoff Neal suffered an injury. Stepping up for a tough matchup is the message Garry puts over in his latest promo video, which you can check out below.
The loss to Rakhmonov was the first of Garry’s career, snapping a 15-fight win streak — including victories in his first eight UFC outings. The 27-year-old’s impressive promotional run includes wins over Neal, Daniel Rodriguez, Neil Magny, and Michael Page.
Prates gets his second straight main event bout after picking up a first-round knockout of Magny in November in the main event of UFC Vegas 100. The Contender Series standout has knocked out all four of his UFC opponents.
