2025 Summer Mileage Program, July 3, 2025, track is over, keep it relaxed, Thursday of your second week of relaxation.

Hurdles giants clash over little-run distance, while Brits such as Amber Anning, Daryll Neita, Dina Asher-Smith, George Mills and Max Burgin are also in action on Thursday

Nine reigning Olympic champions and seven in-form Brits compete in the Bislett Games in Oslo on Thursday (June 12).

Such are the quality of the line-ups, it is hard to predict what the highlight of this Diamond League meeting will be.

But organisers have arguably left the best til last as they have placed the 300m hurdles clash between home favourite Karsten Warholm, Olympic champion Rai Benjamin and 2022 world champion Alison dos Santos right at the end of the schedule.

The trio will be desperate to claim victory but the world record of 33.05, which was set by Warholm in China in April, is also vulnerable.

British distance runner George Mills is part of a strong 5000m field led by Hagos Gebrhiwet and Yomif Kejelcha of Ethiopia.

Last year Gebrhiwet clocked 12:36.73, just missing Joshua Cheptegei’s world record of 12:35.36.

Mills currently sits No.4 on the UK all-time rankings with 12:58.68 set indoors last year. So could Mo Farah’s British record of 12:53.11 from 2011 finally fall?

The only disappointment is that Jakob Ingebrigtsen is not in the race, as he is presently returning to training following an Achilles injury.

Wanyonyi is one of the Olympic champions in Oslo but the 800m runner was beaten in Rabat recently by Max Burgin, the Brit clocking a PB of 1:43.34 behind the winner that day, Tshepiso Masalela of Botswana.

Masalela is not in Oslo but Burgin and Wanyonyi are, plus Djamel Sedjati of Algeria and Gabriel Tual of France. Look out too for in-form Irishman Mark English, who won in Hengelo earlier this week in a PB of 1:43.92.

Mondo Duplantis takes on Sam Kendricks, Emmanouil Karalis and Ernest John Obiena in the pole vault with the ultimate target of improving the 6.27m world record he set in Clermont-Ferrand in February.

The Dream Mile also has British interest with Elliot Giles among the line-up together with former world champion Timothy Cheruiyot, Commonwealth gold medallist Olli Hoare, rising star Cameron Myers and Norway’s Narve Gilje Nordas.

Dina Asher-Smith and Daryll Neita are in a stacked women’s 100m that sees Olympic champion Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia making her 2025 debut at the distance.

Further Brits in action include Amber Anning in the women’s 400m and Elise Thorner in the 3000m steeplechase.

The event is live for UK viewers on BBC3 and online/red button from 7pm to 9pm. Start lists and timetable here.
