Manchester United co-owner Avram Glazer has insisted he and his family will not sell their stake after he was approached by a reporter in Miami.
Despite selling a minority stake to Sir Jim Ratcliffe last year, the Glazers still maintain a controlling interest in the Red Devils and their continued involvement has not gone down well across the fanbase.
On several occasions since their leveraged buyout of the club in 2005, United supporters have held protests against the Glazers’ ownership.
There was optimism that the Glazers might pursue a full sale and cut ties with the club after bringing Ratcliffe on board. However, Avram Glazer’s latest comments suggest otherwise.
Glazer was approached by a Sky Sports reporter on the streets and was repeatedly asked whether he or his family are planning on selling up in the near future.
He was also asked about the criticism currently being directed at Ratcliffe, who has come under fire for various brutal cost-cutting measures including making hundreds of staff redundant.
Glazer initially declined to answer before replying, “I’m on my way to see the president right now I don’t think it’s appropriate to talk about it right now.”
The reporter pressed further on whether the family will sell United, prompting Glazer to eventually reply, “No!”
“No!”

This comes on the same day that it emerged that United have now spent more than £1billion on interest payments since the Glazers assumed control of the club.
It was also pointed out that United spent £14.5million alone on getting rid of both Erik ten Hag (£10.4m) and Dan Ashworth (£4.1m).
Compounding the club’s financial struggles, missing out on Champions League qualification has significantly reduced broadcasting revenue. Consequently, operating profit has dropped sharply from £27.5 million to just £3 million.
United are back in action on Saturday when they face David Moyes’ Everton at Goodison Park.
