During the UFC Vegas 106 main card on Saturday, the fight card’s co-main event was suddenly canceled.

Light heavyweights Rodolfo Bellato and Paul Craig were scheduled to be the co-featured fight but Bellato was forced out of the bout at the last minute due to a medical issue that left him unable to compete.

The UFC Vegas 106 main card proceeded with just four fights. The bout would have been Bellato’s third octagon appearance after making his way to the fight promotion through Dana White’s Contender Series in 2023. He fought Jimmy Crute to a majority draw in his last outing in February.

Craig was in desperate need of a win on Saturday but he’ll have to wait. Having lost his last three fights and five of his last six, Craig would have likely been fighting to keep his spot on the roster.

UFC Vegas 106 took place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas and was headlined by a welterweight bout between No. 8 ranked Gilbert Burns and No. 12 ranked Michael Morales.

The nature of Bellato’s medial issue was not revealed by the fight promotion  or his team but the matchup is expected to be rebooked at a later date.
