UFC Middleweight Sedriques Dumas arrested for umpteenth time, faces charges for home invasion, possession, and robbery

UFC Middleweight Sedriques Dumas (10-3) is not having a great April.

Per online court records, The Florida native was arrested and booked into Escambia County Jail in Florida on five separate charges including felony home invasion robbery without a firearm, misdemeanor battery, felony possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, felony possession of a controlled substance without prescription, and misdemeanor drug equipment possession.

Currently in custody, Dumas is being held on $558,500 bond.

Sadly, this is far from the first time Dumas has run into trouble with the law. It’s not even his first time getting arrested as a UFC fighter, as he also faced a 2024 battery charge. In fact, there was already a collection of his previous mugshots circulating around MMA Twitter, though it’ll have to be updated. According to Ben Davis, this is Dumas’ 15th arrest since 2014.

Just a couple weeks ago at UFC 314, Dumas was quickly flattened by Polish power puncher Michal Oleksiejczuk (watch here). His overall UFC record stands at 3-3 with zero finish victories. The promotion has yet to release an official statement, but I would be surprised if his UFC contract lasts another 48 hours.

Given his history, the question is how he signed on in the first place and exactly what kind of background checks does the promotion employ. Is the Middleweight division truly so desperate for bodies that Dumas was ever a necessary member of the roster?

Better fighters have been cut for a lot less.
