Fight week trash talk is already heating up.
Red-hot Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Brazilian Featherweight Jean Silva gets his shot at the Top 15 rankings when he faces Bryce Mitchell at UFC 314 this weekend (Sat., April 12, 2025) inside Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.
The two 145-pound fighters have been trading barbs in the lead-up to the bout, with Mitchell accusing Silva of “possessing him with a legion of demons” and throwing off his sleep cycle, while “Lord” Silva has relentlessly trolled Mitchell at every opportunity.
Now, with the fight just days away, Silva hopes “Thug Nasty” can survive past the first round so he can savor the beatdown.
“I hope he doesn’t give in and succumb in the first round because I would love to have fun with [him],” Silva told UFC.com during media day. “I’m not loving some of the stuff he’s saying, obviously, and hopefully, he’s just trying to sell the fight because if he really means what he is saying, he’s messed up in the head.”
Sorry to disappoint you, “Lord,” but Mitchell genuinely buys into some pretty outlandish ideas like this. To “Thug Nasty’s” credit, he has only been finished once in the first round (it was bad).
As it stands, Silva remains a clear favorite over the No. 13-ranked Mitchell.
