The Ultimate Fighting Championship crowned a new light heavyweight champion on Saturday.
Magomed Ankalaev defeated Alex Pereira in the UFC 313 main event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas ending the Brazilian’s title reign. It was a competitive fight with Pereira delivering leg kicks and Ankalaev pressuring and connecting with his right hands.
Pereira’s improved takedown defense was on display but he wasn’t able to escape the clinch at times and seemed hesitant to pull the trigger at distance. Ankalaev was able to back Pereira up throughout the fight forcing “Poatan” to fight backing up.
All three judges scored the fight for Ankalaev. See how they scored each round.
