SPRINGFIELD, MASS. – The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced the matchups for the second annual Basketball Hall of Fame Exhibition Event. The NCAA waiver-approved doubleheader will feature UConn’s men’s and women’s basketball teams against Boston College on October 13 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.

The event will mark the first appearance for the UConn women’s team since capturing their 12th national championship in April. UConn’s men’s team returns to the event after headlining the first edition last October vs. Rhode Island.

“This year’s showcase is especially exciting as it brings together both the men’s and women’s teams from two prominent New England programs—UConn and Boston College,” said John L. Doleva, President and CEO of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. “Taking place over a holiday weekend, it’s a great chance for fans to enjoy high-level basketball and regional pride at Mohegan Sun.”

“To have another day of exhibition UConn basketball, this time featuring both the men and women, is something that basketball fans throughout the state will love,” said Jeff Hamilton, President & GM of Mohegan Sun. “Mohegan Sun has long been a proud partner with the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, and we’re thrilled about this special night on October 13th inside Mohegan Sun Arena, welcoming some great basketball between the Huskies and Boston College Eagles.”

Tickets for the 2025 Basketball Hall of Fame Exhibition Game will go on sale on Friday, August 1, via Ticketmaster and at the Mohegan Sun Arena Box Office starting Saturday, August 2.

Additional details surrounding game time, broadcast information, and credentials will be announced at a later date. For more information, please visit hoophall.com.

Quotes from Participating Head Coaches

“We had a great experience playing in the Hall of Fame Exhibition game last year. It’s an honor to be asked back and even more special to be competing alongside our championship women’s program. The Hall of Fame always puts on top-notch events, and it’s an exciting opportunity to take on a quality opponent and give our fans an early look at this year’s team.” – Dan Hurley, UConn (men)

“This exhibition game against UConn will be a great opportunity for our team with live-game action during the preseason,” said head coach Earl Grant.  “It will be good preparation for the upcoming season with a match-up against a long-time rival and one of the top programs in the country at Mohegan Sun Arena.” – Earl Grant, Boston College (men)

“We’re excited to participate in another Basketball Hall of Fame event this year. It’ll be a great day for UConn fans to see both the men’s and women’s programs at Mohegan Sun to kick off the 2025-26 season.“ – Geno Auriemma, UConn (women)

“Playing UConn in an exhibition at Mohegan Sun is a great experience for our team. The opportunity to compete against the 2025 National Champions in such a beautiful arena – the home of the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun – is an incredible opportunity to grow and improve.” – Joanna Bernabei-McNamee, Boston College (women)
