The Pacers have once again completely shocked the NBA world with another clutch win. Tyrese Haliburton was the man, no surprise.
Indiana were average practically all game. The team committed 24 turnovers – and no that isn’t a typo.
OKC had double digit leads for most of the contest. Until Indy stepped on the gas in the fourth quarter.
Pascal Siakam remarked in the tunnel after the game to Hali, “We didn’t even play well.”
Tyrese responded with, “So much to work on.”
But, they emerged victors in a 111-110 win in front of a STUNNED Game 1 Thunder crowd.
Haliburton broke down the Game in his own words:
“There was never a disbelief as a group, honestly,” he said. “You have a half where you’re just showing the ball to the other team..we like chaos, we like controlled chaos but that was just chaos. Ugly. But I think as a group, we came today, we got like probably 20 turnovers in the first half – we only gave up nine points. That’s not that bad, you know, if you think of it that way – glass half full. But, I think as a group we never think the game is over. Ever. Honestly speaking. Ever. That never creeps in. I think we just keep talking as a group – ‘how can we walk this team down?’ So what’s that? 12 going into halftime. We talked about if we can win – one quarter by six, one quarter by seven. We’ll be in a great spot. We got it to a six-point game at the end of the third quarter and Shai hit a three, but we liked where we were and then they went on a big run to start the fourth and we just said okay 15 lets, get it 10. We got it to eight, they call time out. So we just stayed with it. So, this group never gives up, we never believe that the game is over until it hits zero and that’s just the god-honest truth, that’s just the confidence we have as a group and I think that’s a big reason why this is going up.”
