Tylor Megill wasn’t assured a roster spot as spring training began, but he is again reminding the Mets of his value to the organization.

It’s been two starts for the right-hander and two wins, including the team’s 5-0 victory over the Blue Jays on Friday in the Citi Field opener.

Megill pitched 5 ¹/₃ scoreless innings in which he allowed two hits and three walks with four strikeouts.

“He’s keeping it simple and attacking hitters,” manager Carlos Mendoza said. “I thought he used all of his pitches today in a good way. I thought he slowed the game down.”

Megill, who limited the Astros to one earned run over five innings last Saturday, has a 0.87 ERA to begin the season.

The Mets have won Megill’s last eight starts since Aug. 30, a stretch in which he’s pitched to a 1.96 ERA.

Megill was thrust into the rotation this spring following injuries to Frankie Montas and Sean Manaea that landed both pitchers on the injured list.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s single in the eighth inning snapped Max Kranick’s streak of 12 straight batters retired to begin the season.

Kranick, who pitched two scoreless innings, has retired 17 of the 18 batters he’s faced this season.

Jeff McNeil has begun hitting in the batting cage in his rehab from an oblique strain.

Francisco Alvarez, who underwent surgery in spring training for a broken hamate bone in his left hand, was also scheduled to hit in the batting cage.

Art Shamsky, who played for the Mets’ 1969 World Series winning team, was in attendance as part of a tribute to Ed Kranepool, who died in September.

The Mets this season are wearing a patch with No. 7 in Kranepool’s honor.

Kranepool played for the team from 1962-79, spending his entire career with the club.

“Eddie’s legacy will always be this street-smart kid from The Bronx who spent 18 years with the team,” Shamsky said. “You won’t see too much of that anymore.”

John Franco and Al Leiter represented the Mets’ 2000 pennant winning team by throwing out ceremonial first pitches.

Bartolo Colón and Juan Lagares represented the 2015 pennant winning team in the same capacity.
