The Quaker State 400 Available at Walmart will not only be a pivotal event for drivers competing to race their way into NASCAR playoffs or bolster their championship hopes; the event will also be the first in 32 drivers’ quest to win $1 million in NASCAR’s first In-Season Tournament.

Seeding for the field of 32 drivers in contention for the $1 million prize was set based on the results of the NASCAR Cup Series events in Michigan, Mexico City, and Pocono. These drivers will compete over the course of five races – starting with Saturday night’s Quaker State 400 in Atlanta – in head-to-head, bracket-style elimination matchups to determine who will be the inaugural winner of the NASCAR In-Season Tournament.

The 16 drivers who finish better than their head-to-head opponent will advance to the next round at the Chicago Street Course; the other 16 drivers will be eliminated from the tournament.

The added intrigue of the tournament matchups will unfold amongst some of the fastest and most awe-inspiring racing NASCAR has to offer. Fresh off another tantalizing event that saw a track record 50 lead changes in NASCAR’s spring visit to EchoPark Speedway in February, fans expect to see another thrilling affair under the lights on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
