Rassie Erasmus has confirmed that Siya Kolisi is getting ready to return from France and has the complete assist of the Springboks to maneuver again to South Africa.

Studies broke over the weekend of Kolisi, who joined Prime 14 outfit Racing 92 after main the Springboks to back-to-back World Cup glory in 2023, is negotiating an early exit from his contract, which was set to run till 2026.

The Sharks are reported to be main the race to signal the 33-year-old, who made 31 appearances in all competitions in his first three-season stint at Kings Park.

Erasmus, who has been candid about preferring the Springbok captain to be based mostly in South Africa for ease of entry, confirmed that negotiations have been ongoing, however supported Kolisi’s return.

“We truly didn’t need him again, however his agent saved on nagging and nagging,” Erasmus joked when requested concerning the rumours throughout a web-based press briefing from Brisbane.

“After we heard he needs to come back again – it’s a choice from the Sharks – we supported it after they requested us. We’re supporting it 100%.

“They [the Sharks] will formally announce it. They requested us to hitch in on the dialog, whether or not we needed him again, and my reply was sure. It’s good to have your captain in your nation.

“I’m not fairly certain how far the deal is or when will probably be introduced. However, sure, we find out about it and we’re completely satisfied about it.”
