Seeds secured semifinal spots at the Transylvania Open.
Top-seeded Anastasia Potapova defeated German qualifier Ella Seidel 6-2, 6-3 surging into her second semifinal in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

World No. 32 Potapova improved to 8-3 on the season. She will play lucky loser Aliaksandra Sasnovich for a spot in Sunday’s final.
Sasnovich edged Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina 2-6, 6-4, 7-6(3). The third-seeded Kalinina served for the semifinal at 5-4, but could not close.
Doubles world No. 1 Katerina Siniakova stopped Viktoriya Tomova 6-3, 7-6(7). Siniakova saved three set points in a row in the tiebreaker before converting her fifth match point to close.
Siniakova, who is playing for her sixth career singles title, will face Lucia Bronzetti for a spot in the final.
In an all-Italian match-up, Bronzetti beat Elisabetta Cocciaretto 6-1, 6-4.
