During Shakur Stevenson’s open workout ahead of his fight this weekend against late replacement Josh Padley, Stevenson says he’s not too concerned about the change because he knows when he’s at his best he can top any fighter in the game.
Stevenson on what the last 24 hours have been like
“It’s been fun. I love the show, I love everything about this. I’m still on the card, the show must go on, so I’m ready to put on a show.”
On predicting Schofield’s withdrawal
“I was already kind of expecting it. I knew the kid was scared from the start, I knew he was scared from the jump. When I seen him he was definitely scared, so I think he a punk.”
On his replacement opponent Padley
“I mean, I watched one round (of him fight). I’m in shape. They could’ve sent anybody, they could’ve said Lomachenko, let’s fight, I’d have said ‘let’s do it.’
“I know me at my best can beat anybody at their best so I’m the best in boxing and I’m going to show ya’ll Saturday night.”
