It looks as if the Seattle Seahawks won’t completely move on from their 2024 free agency class.
NFL insider Tom Pelissero reporter on Tuesday that the Seahawks are bringing back veteran nose tackle Johnathan Hankins. While the financial details haven’t yet been disclosed, it’ll be a one-year deal for the 33-year-old.
Veteran DT Johnathan Hankins is re-signing with the #Seahawks on a one-year deal, per source.

Hankins was the Seahawks’ nose tackle last season and after Seattle did not get one in this year’s draft it made it more likely that he would return to the team. While not a main part of Hankins’ job description, he did have one of the defensive highlights of the season when he picked off San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy on a deflected pass.
The interception aside, Hankins recorded five tackles for loss (his most since 2019), 30 tackles, and a sack while averaging about 23 snaps per game.
As alluded to at the start of the article, the Seahawks moved on its entire 2024 free agency class after mostly lackluster results. Hankins remained unsigned through the compensatory period of free agency (which ended on Monday), but now that the draft is over the Seahawks are going with a familiar veteran to fill that NT role.
