Seattle Seahawks 2025 draft class projections: Can Bryce Cabeldue crack the roster?

After already drafting an athletic offensive tackle to move to guard in Grey Zabel, the Seattle Seahawks did the exact same thing at pick No. 192…albeit with a less heralded prospect in Bryce Cabeldue from Kansas. Cabeldue will be moved inside to guard and has his work cut out for him in order to get meaningful reps.

Athletic Profile/Comps

Relative Athletic Score (RAS)

Mockdraftable – N/A

Cabeldue was not invited to the NFL Combine, so all the values are from his pro day. As a result, he also doesn’t have any Mockdraftable data. Oh well, we’ll work with what we’ve got…

And that would be a whole lot of green on the RAS chart! Cabeldue is strong, fast, and explosive. That’s a promising base to work with. His comps also have some solid names including Mason McCormick, who I thought might be a Seahawks target in last year’s draft.

Cabeldue and McCormick are pretty damn similar, with McCormick performing noticeably better in the jumps and agility drills. After some injuries on the Pittsburgh Steelers’ offensive line, McCormick ended up starting 14 games as a rookie in 2024. Cabeldue will probably need the same kind of attrition to see the field that often in 2025.

Just for fun, how does Cabeldue compare with Grey Zabel?

Did they just become best friends?

Seriously though, these guys are very comparable athletes. The big differences are the higher bench for Cabeldue and the better vertical for Zabel. No 40-yard dash for Zabel to compare either. The fact that Cabeldue performed that well in his testing is encouraging.

Gut reaction to the pick

Seattle needs to fix its offensive line, and drafting highly athletic players is a good way to start.

#Seahawks landed one of the MOST ATHLETIC OL in the 2025 draft class in Bryce Cabeldue.

After a great career at Kansas and fantastic @ShrineBowl week at OG, Cabeldue put up UNREAL numbers at the Big 12 Pro Day.

When you get to the late rounds of the NFL Draft, it basically becomes a dart throw. Cabeldue’s athleticism along with the fact that he started 50 games in college could give him a leg up in the competition. That’s a solid way to spend a sixth-round pick.

Rookie season prediction

Well, here’s a tough one. Cabeldue is moving inside to guard after playing tackle in college. He’s athletic enough where he could probably play tackle in a pinch if need be. The Seahawks already have Grey Zabel, Anthony Bradford, Sataoa Laumea, and Christian Haynes battling for the guard positions. I really don’t think Cabeldue unseats any of them this season. With his versatility, he could be a good swing OL for the back end of the roster. It may be a fight between Cabeldue and a guy like Michael Jerrell for the final OL spot on the roster. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him make the initial 53-man roster and then get cut as they try to sneak him onto the practice squad.
