The Masters in Augusta is arguably golf’s most famous tournament. Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold won’t be donning a green jacket, but perhaps he’ll be donning one of those Action Green uniforms later this season.
Darnold was among the notable attendees at this year’s Masters, which is at the halfway mark as of Friday. ESPN caught up with Darnold and while he’s obviously a huge golf fan, they asked him about expectations for him and the Seahawks in 2025.
“I think first and foremost, it’s understanding [and] learning the playbook,” Darnold said. “Me and Klint Kubiak, the offensive coordinator there, have had a ton of conversations about what that looks like.
“It’s really fun to just be able to take some of the things that we really worked together with in San Francisco in ’23, some of the stuff that he worked with or got to learn in New Orleans last year and kinda the stuff I learned last year in Minnesota and just kinda collaborate on some of those things. Klint is a great offensive coordinator, a great offensive mind and obviously I got some great teammates to be able to share the field with and make my job a lot easier.”
If you’ve never been to Augusta National, you might be missing out on the reasonably priced food at the concession stands. What does Sam get whenever he’s at The Masters? Apparently, he’s a big fan of the egg salad sandwich.
