Phinsider Victory Of The Week Open Thread Vol. 641

Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Each week we ask questions of the most plugged-in NFL fans and fans across the country.

The yearly languid drifting of another Summer Edition of an NFL off-season will soon come to an end. Well, mostly, come to an end. Rookies report in a little over 10 days, and the veterans report on the 22nd of this month. Per the results of the last SBNation Reacts, the Seattle Seahawks fanbase, at large, is excited for the 2025 season. This time around, we find that the Greater ‘Hawkdom believes that our squad seems primed to not only to make the playoffs, but take the NFC West crown back from the Lowly Lambs. Exciting news, to say the least!

Despite an off-season in which our Seattle Seahawks made major changes at key positions, mostly on offense, those that know harbor the opinion that the ‘Hawks will be able to compete with and defeat both the better teams in our division and the NFL. Winning the NFC West is likely to require going 4-2 against our division rivals, meaning we will have to sweep at least one of the Los Angeles Rams, the San Francisco 49ers, or Arizona Cardinals.

Conclusion: you, the fanbase, the body republic, believes our team is just that good. The outlook seems rosy that our Seattle Seahawks are ready to take the next step. Go, ’Hawks!

On defense, where our improving squad sits simmering and seething, front office roster moves indicated that they believe they have the right players on the roster to fulfill Coach Mike Macdonald’s scheme needs. Another good draft, highlighted by the Nick Emmanwori pick (amongst others), added depth and dynamism to a defense that looked like a top-5 group by the end of the 2024 season. One key to the Seahawks maintaining last year’s momentum is healthy seasons from the likes of Boye Mafe and Uchenna Nwosu. Y’all seem to think we will see both in good spirits and in good shape throughout 2025.

Sidenote: in my opinion, even with healthy seasons from all of our guys, it is more likely that the Seahawks have multiple players with 9-ish sacks than one of them cresting the double-digit sack total that still seems so oddly elusive for the squad (other than Leonard Williams).

New QB1, new WR1, new WR2, new LG. A bunch of other fun cogs for the ‘Hawk Machinery. None of the off-season’s adjustments seem to faze us as Seahawks fans. They have only excited a fanbase generally ready to move on from grumpy players. And Tyler Lockett.

The current Seahawks roster seems energized, focused, and humble enough to listen and to learn what has to be done to be a great team. With a defense that is on the precipice of truly become one of the best units in the league, the new look offense will be afforded the time to congeal and finds its rhythm. The future’s so bright. Wear your BluBlockers.
