Shedeur Sanders was pulled over for speeding on two separate occasions in Ohio this month, and an interaction he had with one police officer proved that the former Colorado star is not a universally recognizable figure.
Sanders was pulled over on June 6 in Medina County, Ohio, after police allegedly observed him driving 91 mph in a 65-mph zone. A video of the stop that was obtained by TMZ shows that the officer who first spoke with Sanders was confused after the Cleveland Browns rookie said he had a house nearby but handed over a Mississippi driver’s license.
Sanders explained that he has a Mississippi license because he attended college there, which was of course during his tenure at Jackson State. The officer still seemed perplexed, at which point the other officer at the scene told Sanders, “He doesn’t know who you are, but that’s fine.”
The first officer then seemed to make the connection and said, “Oh, Sanders, gotcha, okay.”
