Manchester United are languishing in 13th place in the Premier League and with only eight days left in the January transfer window, INEOS are yet to bring in any reinforcements for Ruben Amorim.

The Portuguese head coach is reportedly unhappy with the lack of transfer activity as he needs all the help he can get to salvage what is left of the season.

Due to PSR concerns, not many incomings are expected, something the ex-Sporting Lisbon boss is realising slowly which is why he has demanded that the new co-owners back him heavily once summer comes around.

As revealed by Fichajes, the 39-year-old has asked for three blockbuster signings which include a striker, an attacking midfielder and a wingback, with all of these positions in need of major upgrades.

Amorim’s triple demands

“Manchester United are preparing for a summer transfer market that could mark a turning point in their recent history. The idea is clear: build a competitive team that can regain prominence both in England and in Europe.

“After several years away from the Premier League fight, the Red Devils are looking to meet the demands of their coach, Rubén Amorim, with three top-level signings: Viktor Gyokeres, Florian Wirtz and Achraf Hakimi.”

Amorim wants the club to sign his Sporting protege Gyokeres to add goals to the team and it seems like a no-brainer at this point.

He has a release clause worth €100 million and United will hope to get him for less given his past relation with the coach but there are multiple suitors in the race already.

The other two names are quite surprising mainly as these names have not been mentioned recently. As an attacking midfielder, he has requested Florian Wirtz of Bayer Leverkusen.

New names linked with a move

The German has 14 goals and 10 assists already this season and is expected to cost €100 million as well give his superlative form for the Bundesliga giants.

And for the wingback position, Achraf Hakimi could be a great option to have and the Moroccan’s contract gets over in 2026, which means next summer could be Paris Saint-Germain’s last chance at selling him for a decent fee or they risk losing him on a free.

Hakimi has three goals and seven assists already this term and his attacking output makes him a great option down the right flank. Both the PSG star and Leverkusen playmaker are Real Madrid targets, which means United will not have it easy to land the duo.

All three combined are expected to cost close to €250 million, and it remains doubtful whether INEOS can afford all of them given the Red Devils also need a defensive midfielder and possibly a few backups in other positions. So for now, take this report with a hefty pinch of salt.
