Robelis Despaigne has done it again.
At Karate Combat 53 in Denver, the hard-hitting UFC veteran Despaigne made quick work of another opponent. This time around, it was Roggers Souza who found himself looking up into the lights after just a few seconds of the opening exchange.
Although it was not announced on the broadcast, MMA Junkie confirmed the official time of the stoppage was 8 seconds.
Check out video of the knockout finish below:
Despaigne, 36, has found his stride in Karate Combat since exiting the UFC. It was a short stint of three fights in one calendar year in the world’s premier MMA organization for the 6-foot-7 Cuban. He debuted in March, winning his UFC debut in 18 seconds, but then dropped back-to-back decisions, leading to his exit.
In Karate Combat, Despaigne has been a blink-and-you-miss-it destroyer, finishing his first two opponents in four and 12 seconds. Despaigne is also signed to compete in GFL to compete in MMA, which is gearing up for its first events soon. However, Despaigne said he his open to compete in Karate Combat at the same time, if the schedules align.
