The Jack Link’s 500 race weekend hasn’t even started, but Joey Logano is already a winner at Talladega. And it’s one for the history books.
And now, Logano’s name sits right there alongside icons like Dale Earnhardt, Richard Petty, and Cale Yarborough. Definitely a very prestigious company to be a part of.
A Big Moment for Joey Logano at a Big Track
The reigning NASCAR Cup Series champion was officially inducted into the Talladega Walk of Fame at Davey Allison Memorial Park on Friday, April 26. The Walk of Fame honours some of the biggest legends to ever race under the NASCAR banner.
Racing for Team Penske, Logano has made the giant 2.66-mile superspeedway his personal playground over the years, grabbing three Cup Series wins here — in 2015, 2016, and 2018 — and racking up several more top-10 finishes along the way.
The City of Talladega and Talladega Superspeedway made it official on Friday, which was proudly posted on X (formerly Twitter) by Team Penske. During a sunny afternoon ceremony at Davey Allison Memorial Park, Logano soaked in the cheers and appreciation from fans who have watched him make magic happen on the high banks.

“Thank You Talladega,” Logano posted on X, giving a heartfelt thanks to everyone at Talladega and the fans who’ve been along for the ride.
Talladega Superspeedway President Brian Crichton spoke highly of Logano’s impact, saying, “Joey is no stranger to visiting victory lane at Talladega and his continued success has earned him a well-deserved spot among NASCAR’s greatest in the Talladega Walk of Fame.”
Also honoured during the ceremony was former Talladega City Council President James E. Spratlin, who helped make the Talladega-Texaco Walk of Fame and the Memorial Park a reality in the first place. It was a day full of history, pride, and a lot of smiles.
All Eyes on the Track
Of course, Logano’s not just here to pick up a plaque and take a bow. He’s got his eyes set firmly on another goal this weekend — winning the Jack Link’s 500 and grabbing his fourth career Talladega victory.
Right now, Logano sits ninth in the Cup Series standings with 245 points after nine races. It’s been a bit of a bumpy start to the season, with only two stage wins to show so far, but a win at Talladega could be just the spark he needs to kickstart a summer surge.
His Team Penske teammate, Ryan Blaney, was inducted into the Walk of Fame just last year and went on to have an amazing rest of the season. Maybe Talladega’s magic will rub off on Logano, too.
For now, one thing’s clear: no matter what happens on race day, Logano’s name will echo through the streets of Talladega for years to come. And honestly, that’s as sweet as victory lane itself.
