Real Madrid are interested in signing Ibrahima Konate from Liverpool in the summer transfer window, according to Fichajes. The report has claimed that the Spanish and European giants are ready to pay €50 million for Konate, with whom they have already reached an agreement.
The report in the Spanish news outlet has stated that Madrid manager Xabi Alonso has personally told his bosses to sign Konate in the summer transfer window. Alonso wants a new centre-back to play alongside Dean Huijsen, who joined from Bournemouth for £50 million in the summer transfer window.
Konate is out of contract at Liverpool at the end of next season and has already told the Merseyside club that he will not sign a new deal. The Premier League champions have reportedly decided that they will sell Konate this summer, but only for €50million, which Madrid are now said to be willing to pay.
