Real Madrid are interested in signing Florian Wirtz as a potential replacement for Vinicius Junior, according to CaughtOffSide. The reigning Spanish and European champions believe that the Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder would be able to fill the shoes of Vinicius Junior should the Brazil international forward leave for a club in the Saudi Pro League in the summer transfer window.
However, Madrid, who will face Barcelona in the Copa del Rey Final this coming weekend, will face stiff competition in their quest to bring Wirtz to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer. Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal are keen on the Germany international playmaker, and so are German giants Bayern Munich.
Wirtz is one of the best young attacking midfielders in Europe. The 21-year-old has scored nine goals and given 10 assists in 21 starts and six substitute appearances in the Bundesliga and found the back of the net six times and gave one assist in nine UEFA Champions League matches for Bayer this season.
