The Baltimore Ravens have had a slow start to free agency, with retaining offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley being their biggest deal so far. Quarterback Lamar Jackson had another MVP-caliber season in 2024, and general manager Eric DeCosta has brought in another weapon to hopefully get the team over the hump in 2025.

Take control of your favorite team’s salary cap and manage the roster through free agency!

Ravens Sign Veteran Receiver DeAndre Hopkins Away From Chiefs

Baltimore got off to a rough start in 2024, losing its first two games by one score each. They rebounded to finish 12-5 and made the Divisional Round before losing to the Buffalo Bills. Jackson was nearly unstoppable last season, finishing as PFSN’s No. 1-ranked quarterback.

He was named a first-team All-Pro after throwing 41 touchdowns and a career high 4,172 yards. Jackson added 915 yards and four more scores on the ground en route to an MVP runner-up.

The big addition last offseason was running back Derrick Henry. He added a new element to Baltimore’s potent rushing attack totaling 1,921 yards and 16 touchdowns. The team led the league in rushing with 3,189 yards and was a force on the ground all season.

Jackson distributed the ball well to his receiving options with five players having 42 or more receptions in 2024. Zay Flowers was the team’s leading receiver, hauling in 74 receptions for 1,059 yards and four touchdowns. Rashod Bateman added 756 yards and nine scores, and Mark Andrews led the tight end room with 673 yards and 11 touchdowns.

The Ravens rolled through the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card Round before stumbling in the Divisional Round. Baltimore had PFSN’s No. 2 Offense last season and added to it by recently agreeing to terms with veteran receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport tweeted, “Lamar Jackson has a new weapon: Sources say former Chiefs WR DeAndre Hopkins is expected to sign with the Ravens on a 1-year, $6Mdeal. A new home with another AFC powerhouse.”

Hopkins got off to a slow start in 2024, totaling 15 receptions and one touchdown through the first six games. He was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs after Week 7, and finished with 56 receptions, 610 yards, and five touchdowns between Kansas City and the Tennessee Titans.

The 12-year vet finally made a Super Bowl run with the Chiefs, adding three catches for 29 yards and a score in the postseason. Kansas City fell short in Super Bowl 59, but Hopkins now is set to join another AFC contender desperate to win a championship.

He’s no longer a No. 1 receiver like he was in his prime, but he won’t have to be that guy in Baltimore. Hopkins is looking for one more run, and the Ravens could be the perfect team to get him — and for him to get them — over the hump.
