The Los Angeles Rams have lost several assistants on Sean McVay’s coaching staff this offseason, including Nick Caley, who was hired to be the Houston Texans’ new offensive coordinator.
Caley was the Rams’ tight ends coach over the last two seasons and had the additional responsibility of being the pass game coordinator in 2024.
He was a popular name in this offseason’s coaching cycle as he also interviewed with the New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers for their respective offensive coordinator vacancies.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Rams are replacing Caley by hiring Scott Huff as their new tight ends coach:

Huff most recently served as the Seattle Seahawks’ offensive line coach in 2024. Before that, he spent seven seasons as the University of Washington’s offensive line coach. Huff began his coaching career in 2005 with his alma mater Boise State. He spent 12 years with the program, coaching the offensive line, tight ends and special teams.
Huff is the second addition to McVay’s coaching staff this offseason, joining former New England Patriots outside linebackers coach Drew Wilkins, who was hired as the new defensive pass rush coordinator.
The Rams did not have a pass game coordinator during the 2024 season. Chris Shula filled the role from 2022-2023 before he was promoted to defensive coordinator last year.
Colorado Buffaloes Rams legend Marshall Faulk as running back coach
The Colorado Buffaloes, led by head coach Deion Sanders, announced they have hired legendary Rams running back Marshall Faulk as their new running backs coach.
Faulk was drafted second overall by the Indianapolis Colts in 1994 and after five seasons with the team, he moved on to the St. Louis Rams. With the Rams, he was one of the driving forces for the “Greatest Show on Turf” in which the organization had two Super Bowl appearances and one victory.
Faulk is the only player in NFL history with 12,000 rushing and 6,000 receiving yards and 130 touchdowns. He was the second player in NFL history to have over 1,000 rushing and receiving yards in the same season.
During his playing career, Faulk was a three-time Offensive Player of the Year, seven-time Pro Bowl selection, six-time All-Pro and the NFL MVP in 2000.
