A planned boxing match between former UFC champions Quinton Jackson and Rashad Evans next weekend has been canceled due to unfulfilled “contractual obligations.”
This is according to both “Rampage” and Evans, who each took to social media Friday night to break the “sad news.”
Nobody really asked for a grudge match between Jackson and Evans, but the former rivals were more than happy to lock horns once more. This time it was going to be inside the boxing ring at the upcoming ICS Mania 1 fight card on April 12 at The Pit in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Unfortunately, it appears that Signature Punch Promotions couldn’t keep their end of the deal and it forced “Rampage” and Evans to pull out of the fight. Full details are unknown at this time, but don’t expect the former UFC champions to fight later this month (despite what ICS Boxing might say).

“Sad news for @sugarashadevans and myself. I’m disappointed to say that we have to pull out of the boxing match on April 12th because contractual obligations wasn’t fulfilled. I’ve lost confidence in the promotion of this fight. Once again i apologize for this bad news for everyone that got flights n fight tickets.”
“This decision was something we did not want to make. We knew how much the fans were looking forward to the event, and we were looking forward to it as well. We’ve encountered some unexpected challenges with the promotion and some key contractual obligations are not met as planned.”
