Rajon Rondo is in camp with the Milwaukee Bucks as a visitor coach, which is a job he’s anticipated to play all through the 24-25 season.

Rondo retired from his enjoying profession this previous April and was quickly recruited by Doc Rivers to affix the teaching ranks.

“There’s quite a lot of components that go into teaching,” Rondo stated. “You simply cannot say, I will be a coach, after which every thing works out and that is the way it occurs. So sure personalities need to mesh, [and there’s] quite a lot of sacrifice. There are specific issues that I am studying. The morning conferences, the quantity of hours you are spending watching movie, it is quite a bit.”

Rondo stated he does not have an actual path in thoughts.

“You see folks go from not teaching to head-coaching jobs on a regular basis,” he stated. “Lots of people go straight to changing into assistant coaches. So there’s simply no path. I simply wish to search as a lot data as doable.”

“He is the neatest participant I’ve ever coached — and never simply good,” Rivers informed ESPN. “He is aware of when to and when to not say stuff. He is an awesome crew builder. It is simply enjoyable, and it is nice to have him round.”

Rivers is reminded of his personal journey from enjoying to teaching.

“I simply suppose there’s sure guys that needs to be a coach,” Rivers stated. “It is humorous, I by no means thought I used to be going to teach, and Pat Riley informed me I am teaching. I stated, ‘No, I will do TV.’ He stated, ‘You may be a coach’ and Pat Riley by no means relented. And after I did TV these first three years, he would ship texts or letters like, ‘Get your f—ing ass on the sideline.’ And I really feel the identical means [with Rondo].”
