Luis Enrique highlighted the importance of maintaining a “positive dynamic”, following Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-1 victory over Le Havre.

PSG have already secured a fourth successive Ligue 1 title, but are now focused on becoming the first team to go unbeaten through an entire top-flight season in France.

Luis Enrique’s much-changed side stayed on track to achieve that, as goals from Desire Doue and Goncalo Ramos sealed a routine three points.

The head coach made nine changes to the team that started PSG’s Champions League second-leg defeat against Aston Villa in midweek, when they prevailed 5-4 on aggregate to advance to the semi-finals.

Luis Enrique believes the character demonstrated by his players has set the benchmark for the remainder of the season, as they target a possible treble.

“I’m very happy,” he told the official club website. “I’m happier than for most games, because I knew how difficult it would be to play this game.

“Playing after the Champions League knockout game against Aston Villa, we made a lot of changes in terms of players.

Pure happiness!

“I think it was a very important test for me, and very important for the players. I’m happy with their performance.

“It’s very important to maintain this positive dynamic. We have to think that the best way to prepare for the important matches to come is with this mentality and this character to fight for every trophy.”

Among the raft of changes, Luis Enrique handed a first senior start at Parc des Princes to 17-year-old Ibrahim Mbaye, and the youngster was pleased to play his part in keeping PSG on track.

“It was a very good game,” he said. “We scored very early, and we got the win. We’re very happy, and I hope that we’ll keep going like that.

“I try to play my game, also to adapt to my team-mates. We play together in training. I try to apply what they advise me to do, the advice of the coach, too. It’s a pleasure to have made my first start here.”
