We have an official fight poster for the upcoming trilogy bout between Dustin Poirier and Max Holloway and it’s pretty badass.
Poirier is approaching his final walk to the Octagon as “Diamond” plans to retire in front of his Louisiana faithful when he challengers “Blessed” for the “BMF” title at UFC 318 on July 19 from inside Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. It will be a memorable swan song for Poirier as he goes down as one of the most game fighters to ever step foot inside of the cage.
This will be the third time that Poirier and Holloway have fought. Their first meeting came back in 2012 at UFC 143 in a featherweight clash. It was Holloway’s official UFC debut and a fight he ended up losing via submission, which remains his lone submission loss to date. The rematch took place seven years later at UFC 236 when the two fan favorites duked it out for the interim UFC lightweight championship. “Diamond” won that fight as well, but this time via five-round unanimous decision.
The third and final meeting between Poirier and Holloway will be for UFC’s popular “BMF” belt, which has been passed around a few times. Holloway, who is coming off a knockout loss to Ilia Topuria at UFC 308 last October, captured the “BMF” title from Justin Gaethje with a legendary knockout punch at UFC 300 in April 2024 (see it HERE). The “BMF” strap hasn’t been on the line since then.
On Friday, UFC’s marketing squad dropped the official fight poster for UFC 318. It only features “Diamond” and “Blessed” while promoting their “BMF” trilogy fight. Check it out at the top of the page and let us know where this one ranks among UFC fight posters.
Sound off!
