My dad took these photos in likely the late 70s during one of his many trips from STL to Watkins Glen. Made this for me a few years ago and just now thought to share it. He has a similar one at his house with black and white photos that he gifted to my brother just before he left for Europe.
This is a prized possession of mine, and I have it in the main hallway of my house so I get to see it every day before I go to bed. I can’t quite afford a Watkins glen trip with two kids, but I grew up with him taking me to Road America, and have been innumerable years. So I’ve continued the tradition of Road America with my step-daughters and wife for the IMSA race for the last four years and will be one of the three “major” vacations for us for years to come. The other two are just camping trips, but just as highly revered. Hope anyone who sees this enjoys these photos and the story and history behind them. Thanks for checking it out!
