PGMOL ‘investigating’ David Cootes social media video

Skilled Recreation Match Officers Restricted is reportedly ‘investigating’ a video on social media displaying David Cootes making disrespectful feedback aimed toward Liverpool and former supervisor Jurgen Klopp.

The PGMOL – the physique answerable for refereeing video games in English skilled soccer – are set to analyze after footage emerged of Cootes calling Klopp ‘conceited’ and a ‘German ****’.

 

On the finish of a second video, Cootes says to the individual filming ‘that video can’t go wherever, critically’.

BBC Sport journalist Simon Stone has revealed that PGMOL – of which Howard Webb is Chief Refereeing Officer – are ‘conscious’ of the footage and investigating’ the matter.

On his X account, Stone wrote: “PGMOL are conscious of a video circulating on social media and are investigating.”

The video has emerged with Cootes beneath query for his officiating throughout Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Aston Villa within the Premier League on Saturday.

Cootes appeared to wave play on when Mohamed Salah was introduced down by Leon Bailey because the final man, with Darwin Nunez taking the lead and ending previous Emi Martinez. The incident was picked up on by TNT Sports activities commentator Darren Fletcher.

“Let’s simply take a look on the objective and have a look at the motion of David Coote when Leon Bailey brings Mo Salah down,” Fletcher stated throughout TNT’s dwell protection.

 

Co-commentator Lucy Ward added” “That’s definitely a foul,” to which Fletcher replied: “Is he saying play on? Or is he saying that’s not a foul? I believe that’s the concern if that’s the manner he’s seeing it.”
