The Philly curse is in full swing right now. The 76ers are in the midst of an ugly losing streak and are 20-37 on the season.

Joel Embiid is staring the down the barrel of a ‘radical surgery’ and George is battling a finger injury, and seems to more worried about producing podcasts then producing triple doubles.

PG wasn’t shy about calling the 76ers out following the team’s eighth straight loss.

“We’ve shown no sign of a team that will compete,” George said. “We just don’t have the habits of a champion, or a playoff contending team, would have. To be honest, right now it’s a little far-fetched [to think we can make the playoffs]. All we can do is work hard and try to just keep going for one another.”

76ers guard Tyrese Maxey, one of the most happy-go-lucky guys in the league even seems depressed.

“I’m never gonna sit here and lace my shoes up and be expected to lose,” Maxey said. “That’s just not how I’m wired. That’s not how I play basketball. That’s not how I live my life.”

Stephen A. Smith doesn’t feel sorry for George and thinks his choice to select money over loyalty has backfired – big time.

“Imma tell you what’s the issue with Paul George – Paul George never wanted to in Philadelphia; he went there for the money,” Smith said on ESPN’s First Take. “There’s something to be said about not being able to put a price on happiness; we all want to get paid. None of us are going to apologize for that.

“He took that extra fourth year. I think sometimes you gotta ask yourself whether that extra year of dollars that will be coming down the road was worth sacrificing the level of happiness you had in LA compared to the misery you’re facing in the East…That’s primarily the issue with Paul George – a new system, being in a place where he doesn’t want to be, and he just went for the money, that’s what I believe,” he added.
