Novak, a record-extending ten-time AO champion, is a seventh seed. He’ll open the marketing campaign in opposition to Nishesh Basavareddy from the USA (ATP no. 133).
Within the second spherical, Djokovic will play in opposition to the winner of the match between Pavel Kotov (BUL) and a qualifier.
The earliest seed he may meet isn’t any.26, Tomas Machac (CZE), in spherical three, or he may face Reilly Opelka (USA) in that stage of the competitors.

Final 12 months, he fell to Jannik Sinner within the semi-final, 1-6, 2-6, 7-6 (6), 3-6.
The 12 months’s first Grand Slam match begins on January 12 (Sunday).
