Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic met on the practice court ahead of the Miami Open. The Spaniard is chasing his second title in Florida after lifting the first in 2022 at 18. On the other hand, the Serb will compete at Hard Rock Stadium for the first time after missing Miami betwen 2020 and 2024.

As always, two great rivals exchanged nice words, with Novak finishing his practice session with Andy Murray and Carlos replacing him. If both players pass four opponents, they will embrace the semi-final duel at the second Masters 1000 event of the season.

Djokovic is seeking his first ATP title since August last year. With more history on the table, he is also trying to become the first Miami Open champion with seven titles, and the third player in the Open era with 100 ATP trophies!

Alcaraz will try to bounce back following the Indian Wells semi-final defeat to Jack Draper. World no. 3 will start his Miami campaign against Aleksandar Vukic or David Goffin. He should face Brandon Nakashima in the third round.

If he wins, the 21-year-old could face Grigor Dimitrov, Karen Khachanov or Nick Kyrgios in the last 16. Carlos is projected to meet Tommy Paul or Casper Ruud in the quarter-final. Djokovic shares the third quarter of the draw with tough opponents!

The veteran could face his compatriot Hamad Medjedovic in the first match. Alex Michelsen, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Lorenzo Musetti are his potential rivals before the quarter-final. If he notches three wins, Novak could meet Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Jiri Lehecka or Sebastian Korda in the last eight.

Djokovic has lost the previous three matches, embracing his worst streak since 2018 and hoping for a better run in his first visit to Florida in six years. The Serb dominated the Miami Open between 2007 and 2016, claiming six trophies and joining Andre Agassi at the top of the charts.

Novak will seek his 41st Masters 1000 trophy after embracing his 500th match at that level in Indian Wells two weeks ago.
