Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Matheus Cunha from Premier League rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer transfer window, according to TBR. Cunha will leave Wolves at the end of the season despite signing a new deal, and Forest are ready to make a big push to bring him to the City Ground.

Cunha’s contract has a release clause of £60 million, and Forest will have to pay that. If the Reds do cough up that sum, then it would make the Brazil international forward their most expensive player in history. Cunha has scored 15 goals and given four assists in 29 matches in all competitions for Wolves so far this season.

Forest are third in the Premier League table at the moment with 54 points from 29 matches, just four points behind second-placed Arsenal and five points ahead of fourth-placed Chelsea. Meanwhile, Wolves currently find themselves 17th in the Premier League table with 26 points from 29 games, nine points above the bottom three.
