SILVERSTONE, England — British driver Lando Norris turned in quick lap during the second practice session for Sunday’s British Grand Prix that put him at the time of the timesheets for the day.
Norris drove his McLaren to a lap of one minute and 25.816 seconds, which was .222 seconds better than Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc.
“I mean, the soft was a very strong lap,” Norris said. “But me being me, I think also just in general, the Ferraris have been very, very quick today – and they shall be tomorrow.
“I think we have a bit of work to do, to be honest. It looked maybe a bit too good today. Like always, Ferrari catch up into FP3, like they did last weekend [in Austria]. I would say pleased with today, but nothing to be too proud about just yet.”
Leclerc’s teammate, Lewis Hamilton, who led the first practice session, was third on the board.
Point leader Oscar Piastri was fourth quick in the second McLaren, while reigning world champion Max Verstappen placed his Red Bull machine in fifth spot.
Kimi Antonelli was the top Mercedes driver in sixth, while Lance Stroll was seventh for Aston Martin
