The EYBL season resumed with its second session in Memphis from May 16–18, as top high school prospects from around the country converged at the Memphis Sports Arena to showcase their talent. While a handful of notable players were absent, the highly anticipated return of No. 1 rising senior Tyran Stokes and the emergence of rising star Babatunde Oladotun—who played up an age group—generated buzz throughout the weekend. Several high-profile teams made their summer debuts after skipping the Phoenix opener, adding further intrigue to the competition. Though attention centered on Stokes and the U17 division, a number of U16 and U15 standouts seized the moment, delivering breakout performances that expanded the spotlight beyond the headline names.

Top 10 Prospects

Tyran Stokes – 6’7 SF, Oakland Soldiers – Class of 2026

Stokes’ (pictured) return generated significant excitement in the gym, and night one on Court Two was packed as the number one player in the country took the floor. Some rust was evident in game one as Stokes and his team struggled, leading to the Soldiers’ first loss of the summer. After four games in Memphis, the Soldiers finished with two wins and two losses, with Stokes leading the way. He was a force on both ends of the court, averaging 18.2 points and 10 rebounds per game. His high motor was evident as he rebounded the ball in traffic, and his impressive athleticism was on full display with numerous thunderous dunks. Although he struggled from long range, shooting only 2-for-11 over the weekend, his touch around the basket was solid, and his ability to make tough shots was evident, as he hit just under 48% from inside the arc. Tyran showed his ability to run the team and facilitate, averaging four assists per game through four games. Defensively, Stokes was a menace, averaging more than two steals per game in Memphis. He showcased multiple skills, running the offense from the point guard position while demonstrating strength in the paint with his back to the basket.

Jordan Smith Jr. – 6’2 CG, Team Takeover – Class of 2026

Smith Jr. emerged as one of the best players in Memphis, serving as a key catalyst for Team Takeover, which is currently undefeated with a record of 7–0 over two weekends. Smith plays with remarkable poise and confidence, consistently displaying control on the floor. He ranks within the top 10 in scoring for the U17 category, averaging 19.9 points per game across seven games. Smith scores efficiently, shooting over 51% from the floor, despite struggling from long range with a 26.7% shooting percentage beyond the arc. He demonstrates a high-level competitive spirit on both ends of the court. His tight ball-handling and quick first step enable him to navigate effectively to his spots in the paint and around the basket. He has also showcased solid athleticism, evidenced by several impressive dunks, and averages 6.5 rebounds per game. With a strong frame and a powerful lower body, Smith is difficult for opposing guards to match in terms of strength. Defensively, he leads his team with an average of 2.42 steals per game, including nine steals recorded in Memphis.

Babatunde Oladotun – 6’9 SF, Team Durant – Class of 2027

Babatunde had an impressive performance in Session 1 in Phoenix, averaging double digits and demonstrating great efficiency on the court, which led to his promotion to U17 for Session 2. In Memphis, he showcased his intangible skills with a solid performance. On the first night, Oladotun scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds on 15 shot attempts. Over the weekend, he averaged 14.5 points and 4.75 rebounds per game. He has a smooth playing style, effectively handling the ball and making plays off the ball. He continued to score well, shooting 64% from the floor and inside the arc. Improving his long-range shooting consistency (7-for-19) and adding strength to his frame will greatly benefit his game.

AJ Williams – 6’7 SF, Georgia Stars – Class of 2028

Despite his young age, AJ Williams was one of the top prospects in Memphis during Session 2. He is the No. 2 ranked player in the Class of 2028 and a key player for his undefeated Georgia Stars team. Williams is ranked in the top ten for scoring across both sessions, averaging 21.1 points and 8.1 rebounds per game across seven games. Williams has a smooth playing style; he plays within himself and doesn’t rush his game. He showcased various offensive skills, driving to the basket off the bounce and spinning over both shoulders to make contested jumpers. Defensively, Williams performed well in Memphis, averaging nearly two steals per game. He was able to beat defenders off the dribble and finish at the rim with several dunks. Williams will gain more athletic ability and strength to expand his game as he continues to develop.

With solid ball-handling and a quick first step, Crowe consistently penetrated the defense and attacked the basket throughout the weekend. His score-first mentality was evident, as he averaged only 2.25 assists per game in Memphis and 3.3 overall across the two sessions. Crowe had his best game under pressure against Team Takeover on day two, with four of the top 10 players in the Class of 2026 on the floor. A left-handed wing, Samuels demonstrated his ability to create space and knock down shots, finishing 12-of-23 from beyond the arc during the Memphis games. He also rebounded nicely from the wing, averaging just under five rebounds per game over the weekend. Adding more strength and athleticism could further enhance his game, as he currently lacks explosive physical tools. Samuels is a fierce competitor and showed his scoring ability off the dribble, hitting numerous pull-up jumpers. He also worked effectively out of the post, converting a variety of turnaround shots and finishing well around the rim.

Christian Collins – 6’8 SF, Team Why Not – Class of 2026

Christian Collins continued to impress in Session 2 with his skills and intangibles. As a long, athletic small forward, his wingspan proved beneficial on the defensive end, where he averaged 1.75 blocks and 1.75 steals per game in Memphis. He is quick enough to drive past defenders and has a fast second jump, enabling him to capitalize on putback opportunities. Offensively, Collins scored effectively at all three levels, averaging 15.75 points per game. He demonstrated the ability to handle the ball both in the half-court and in transition, creating scoring chances for himself. Hampton continued to impress in Memphis with his aggressive scoring mentality, averaging 21.7 points per game over two sessions. He was more efficient in Memphis, improving his field goal percentage to 45% from 38.8% in Arizona. A long, athletic wing, Hampton thrives in the open floor and attacks the basket consistently. He showed promise in the mid-range, though his outside shot remained inconsistent, hitting just 3-of-16 from deep over the weekend. Defensively, his length and quickness stood out, averaging 1.5 blocks per game, along with three steals and several deflections. His athleticism was evident through a variety of finishes above the rim. Hampton also contributed on the glass, averaging 6.75 rebounds per game, with over two coming on the offensive end. As he adds strength and shooting consistency, he’ll continue to rise as one of the top players in his class.

A big-bodied guard with long arms, quick feet, and active hands, Mingo averaged over 20 points per game for the weekend on 50% shooting. Though his three-point shot still needs work (4-for-14), his ability to break down defenders and create off the bounce was evident. He averaged just over three assists per game, using his vision to set up teammates after collapsing the defense. On the other end, Mingo’s instincts and length helped him average 2.75 steals per game, and he was a standout rebounder from the guard position, pulling down 8.25 boards per game, including 1.75 on the offensive end.

Gaskins expanded his perimeter game, improving his three-point shooting from 25% (4-for-16) in Phoenix to 38.4% (5-for-13) in Memphis. He’s at his best moving without the ball and finishing around the rim, where he shot 55% from the floor. Gaskins brings great energy and is a leader on the boards, ranking top-10 in U17 with 8.1 rebounds per game after recording 28 total boards and nine offensive rebounds in Memphis.
