Nick Kyrgios noticed being called “a moron” and described as a verbal abuser in a post that questioned how Novak Djokovic could have so much admiration for him and he responded by posing just one simple question.

After the Australian beat Mackenzie McDonald in the Miami Masters first round for his first win since 2022 October, the record 24-time Grand Slam champion was thrilled for his 2022 Wimbledon final opponent. Also, he told reporters that he would really like to play doubles with the 29-year-old in front of his home fans in Belgrade later this year.

“I do really wish that we play another time [in] doubles. Later on this year we have a tournament in Belgrade, I’m planning to play it. I don’t know if he’s planning to come, so maybe, yeah, maybe we should slam it there,” the Serb shared in Miami this week.

Reacting to an X post related to Serb’s comments, one person lamented: “I will never understand how someone this big continues to associate with a moron like Kyrgios. He is constantly harassing & bullying other tennis players & is a huge misogynist yet Novak continues to enable him,” the post read.

Although the 2022 Wimbledon runner-up saw some pretty harsh words being used to describe him, he didn’t want to insult back. Instead, he simply asked the critic: “Have you had 1 conversation with me?”

If you remember well, Kyrgios and Djokovic’s friendship started in 2022, when the Australian publicly criticized his nation’s authorities over their handling of the Serb’s treatment during the infamous Australia visa saga. That act was greatly appreciated by the 37-year-old, who repeated several times over the years that the Australian’s support meant a lot to him, especially considering that those were times when pretty much everyone was against him.
