Nicholas Pooran launched into a floated delivery by Yuzvendra Chahal to dismiss the ball straight over the bowler’s head for a powerful maximum during Match 13 of the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League on Tuesday, April 1. The six came after a couple of boundaries on the first and third deliveries of the same over.
It was a truly extraordinary shot by the left-handed batter, who leaned forward and extended his arms to smash the delivery downtown. By the end of the over, the leg-spinner had conceded 15 runs in his first over.
Chahal had the last laugh though as he got the better of Pooran with an enticing googly in the 12th over. Pooran was absolutely furious with himself for spooning the ball straight down long-off’s throat, as catcher Glenn Maxwell made no error. Pooran went back to the shed six short of what would have been his 12th IPL half-century.

Meanwhile, the wily Chahal ended his evening with figures reading 1/36 in four overs. He conceded only 21 runs in his last three overs. He was subbed out for Nehal Wadhera, who came in as an Impact Player. LSG ended their 20 overs on a score of 171/7, with Pooran top-scoring with 44 to his name.
