The NFL Gamers Affiliation is tackling a proposed rule change earlier than it is permitted.
On Wednesday, reviews surfaced that the league is planning to vote on a proposal to remove hip-drop tackles. If the proposal passes, the penalty for hip-drop tackles will likely be an computerized first down and a 15-yard penalty.
The rule proposal describes hip-drop tackles as when a participant “grabs the runner with each fingers or wraps the runner with each arms” after which “unweights himself by swiveling and dropping his hips and/or decrease physique, touchdown on and trapping the runner’s legs at or beneath the knee.”
