Newcastle United are ramping up their search for a new striker – and Dominic Calvert-Lewin is now firmly in their sights. The 28-year-old Everton forward, who is set to become a free agent this summer, has reportedly been contacted by the Magpies over a potential Bosman transfer.

Calvert-Lewin’s Everton Journey: A Tale of Highs and Frustrations

Since joining Everton from Sheffield United in 2016, Calvert-Lewin has shown flashes of brilliance – but injury setbacks have consistently held him back. The 2024/25 campaign has been no different. A recurring hamstring issue has limited him to just 22 appearances, with only three goals and two assists to his name.

Despite these struggles, the England international’s market value remains strong. With his Everton contract set to expire, clubs are circling – and Newcastle want to strike early.

Newcastle’s Striker Shake-Up: Replacing Callum Wilson

With Callum Wilson expected to leave St. James’ Park this summer on a free transfer, Eddie Howe is in need of fresh firepower. Calvert-Lewin, a proven Premier League scorer when fit, is seen as a viable replacement.

Newcastle previously explored signing him last summer, but talks fell through. This time, the Magpies are hoping to get ahead of the competition by reaching out to the striker’s representatives early.

A Fresh Start on Tyneside?

A move to Tyneside could offer Calvert-Lewin the chance to revive his career in a new environment – and help Newcastle strengthen their attacking depth. Whether the move materialises or not, one thing is clear: Calvert-Lewin is ready for a new chapter.
