Newcastle are interested in signing Johan Bakayoko from PSV Eindhoven, according to Tuttosport, and to that end, they’ve set aside the amount of €40 million. It remains to be seen of the Eredivisie champions consider that enough, but it’s worth pointing out that Bakayoko’s contract with them enters its final year in the summer.
The Turin-based outlet reports that Juventus were interested in the Dutch winger, but the Bianconeri appear to have withdrawn from any potential race against the Magpies, deciding to rather put their trust in Nico Gonzalez whose loan from Fiorentina will turn into a permanent transfer at the end of the season.
Bakayoko, 21, has been on excellent form recently. His performance against Liverpool in the final round of the Champions League group stage has sparked plenty of praise for his talents. This season, he has contributed 10 goals and three assists in 30 appearances across all competitions for PSV.
