Six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Brandon Marshall may have had a short career with the New York Giants but he has stayed close to the team since retiring from the NFL in 2018.

“I think it’s one of the dopest brands in all of sports. I love what they stand for,” Marshall told Fox News Digital recently.

Marshall played just five games for Big Blue in 2017 but has kept close tabs on the club, including their recent flub in sallowing star running back Saquon Barkley to defect to the hated Philadelphia Eagles last March in free agency.

The Giants are feeling the heat as Barkley’s heroics have carried the Eagles to Super Bowl LIX against the Kansas City Chiefs. He has gone from a good player on a bad team to a great player on a championship team.

Marshall says the Giants and their fans don’t have to like it, but they need to accept it. They weren’t winning with Barkley and are still eons away from contention.

“It’s what comes with it. This is the big leagues,” Marshall said. “The Tisch (and Mara) family has been phenomenal to me. … I do think that they can embrace a little change and get with the times a little bit in some areas. But I’m a big fan of the Giants.

“With that being said, no, this is absolutely what comes with it. You had a generational talent in your building, and you knew it. It’s why you drafted him.”

The Giants finished 3-14 without Barkley but it wasn’t their running game that held them back. Rookie Tyrone Tracy Jr. had a breakout season and the Giants averaged 104 yards per game this year, just six yards less per game than they did in 2023 with Barkley.
